Guyana Ferry Disaster: 10 Dead, Dozens Missing After MV Barima Sinks
A ferry, named MV Barima, carrying 133 passengers has sunk near the shore of Guyana on the voyage from Georgetown to Port Kaituma. Although 67 individuals have been saved from the wrecked ferry, 10 dead bodies have been recovered so far while there are numerous people who are still missing. However, the operation to find those missing people has become highly problematic due to the fact that the list of passengers of the ferry was incomplete. Moreover, the captain and a crew member of the ferry have been arrested by the police for being under the influence of marijuana.
